Are you a licensed home inspector?
Yes. I am a Louisiana Licensed Home Inspector #20047 and perform inspections in accordance with the standards required for licensed home inspectors in Louisiana.
Did you have experience with home inspections before becoming an inspector?
Yes. For years, I worked with homeowners and real estate professionals preparing homes for inspections and correcting issues discovered during buyer and pre-listing inspections. I’ve seen the inspection process from both sides.
What is your approach to an inspection?
My approach is thorough, practical, and straightforward. I take the time to carefully evaluate the home’s visible and accessible systems and components and document conditions that you need to know about.
Are you looking for reasons to keep me from buying the house?
No. My job isn’t to convince you to buy or not buy a home. My job is to help you understand the home you’re considering so you can make an informed decision.
Will you explain what you find?
Absolutely. I don’t want you to receive a report filled with technical language you don’t understand. I’ll explain significant findings, answer your questions, and help you understand what I found and why it matters.
Do you only point out major problems?
No. A home inspection can identify significant concerns as well as maintenance items and conditions that may need attention. The goal is to give you a clearer overall picture of the home at the time of the inspection.
Do you understand older homes and remodeled homes?
My remodeling background is especially helpful when evaluating homes that have been modified, repaired, added onto, or updated over the years. Decades of hands-on work have exposed me to many different construction methods, materials, repairs, and renovations.
What is your goal for each client?
My goal is for you to walk away knowing more about the home than you knew before the inspection and feeling better equipped to make your own decision.
